Youth Education Program

Taltree offers interpretive hikes on the arboretum grounds. Trained guides discuss topics such as geology of the region, wildlife, habitats, ecology, horticulture/arboriculture and others. Hikes goes through our prairie, woods, and wetland areas discussing what is happening at that time and relating that to the particular needs of the group.

We can handle up to 100 students at a time. We divide the students into groups of approximately 20 or as individual classes. Hikes last 1 to 1 1/2 hours and cost $4/person ($1/person for Taltree members).
