Steps to Becoming an Adult Volunteer

(Individuals interested in community service hours for class are not recommended for this program)

1. Download, print, and send in the Volunteer Information Form or fill out the online form.

2. Attend the volunteer orientation program. Volunteer Orientation sessions are held twice a year. Orientation program includes an overview and history of the Arboretum as well as information about the various volunteer opportunities. Orientation program attendance is required for volunteering, additional training maybe required for certain volunteer positions. For more information email or call 219-462-0025.

3. You are ready to volunteer!

Teen Volunteer Program

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. Volunteers age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult while volunteering. Only certain volunteer duties are available for teens. Please email or call 219-462-0025 for more information.

Corporate Groups and Organization Volunteers

The Arboretum welcomes the opportunity to work with local businesses and organizations to plan group volunteer days. Whether it’s planting, weeding, removing invasives or helping at special events; the volunteer experience is always more fun when it’s done with a group.
