Science Quest
Science Quest: July 8 – 12
Have you ever wanted to count how many times you fart in a day? During Science Quest, you will confirm or deny science myths, such as how many times a person burps in a day, and see methane in action! Our science experiment called “Bug Bucket” will introduce you to larvae and how they break down food waste. You will visit a local wastewater treatment plant, and go on a “Poop Hike” to learn the science of scatology. Grow your own mini veggie garden using compost created by our wiggly worms, and participate in a flying marshmallow competition. It sounds like a lot but you’ll be keeping your notes and photos in your own Taltree journal.

Wilderness Safari Camp
Wilderness Safari Camp: July 15-19
Learn what it means to be an informed conservationist through our woodland safari camp. You’ll find out how Taltree became an arboretum, why we conserve our natural resources, and get to plant a tree! Create your own blueberry basket and bird house! Hike in Taltree’s woods, take a trip to a blueberry farm and pick blueberries, and see rehabilitated birds of prey! You will play predator/prey games, dissect owl pellets, and learn about why bluebirds are so important. Keep it all written down in your Taltree journal, where you’ll also be documenting the lives of Taltree’s Monarch butterflies!
