 Artistic Inspiration "America the Beautiful" Art in a Day! Download the 2006 Artistic Inspiration event description and application. Our Artistic Inspiration "America the Beautiful" Competition & Fair is on July 29th this year. Taltree Arboretum and Gardens' Competition and Fair will bring together artists and art lovers from Indiana and surrounding states in a truly unique experience. Taltree's beautiful gardens, prairies, wetlands, and oak savanna will play host to these talented artists creating work that is reflective of their style. As you stroll through the peaceful gardens and Arboretum you'll see Artists creating one-of-a-kind artwork. Taltree will be awarding outstanding cash prizes ($500 First Place, $250 Second Place Purchase, $250 Student Scholarship) at the close of the competition. You may wish to get involved by making your own creation or witnessing the many fine demonstration artists at work throughout the day. You'll also have an opportunity to purchase fine works of art of your very own. Bring the children and watch how creative they can be on one of the many whimsical easels located "just for the kids"! Or just relax with a snack and enjoy the many fine musicians and story-tellers throughout the day. This event is sure to be one you'll want to come back to year after year, so mark your calendars for July 29th and bring the whole family! Competition Artists:Artist Registration: 6:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M.; Saturday, July 29th at Taltree Arboretum and Gardens, 450 West 100 North, Valparaiso, IN. Art work must be created on Taltree property during competition hours and submitted by 4:00 P.M. Artist's signature required at the time of registration on our media release form, if artist is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian's signature is required. All types of media are welcome Public Welcome to Competition and Fair: 10:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. Competition Judging: 4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Award Ceremony: 5:00 P.M; winners' name and photograph may be published in the Fall Tag Along Newsletter with photo of wining artwork. Vendor Artist Booths:Check in and set up 7:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M.;
