Audrey M. & Leonard J. Hitz Family Rose Garden

Audrey M. Hitz (1923-2003) was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling to far-flung destinations. She viewed each trip as an opportunity to experience gardens and landscapes in bloom. While she appreciated all flowering plants, her favorite was the rose.

After Audrey passed away her husband, Leonard Hitz, dedicated this garden in her memory. The design of the Hitz Family Rose Garden, created by their son Richard, is based upon Audrey’s favorite board game, Scrabble. We welcome you to bask in the scents carried on the wind, listen to the soft trickling of water flowing over granite, and enjoy the complex beauty of the rose as Audrey did.
